April 15th, Montrose, CO. In an upset victory, James Iacino has won the Democratic Party’s CD3 Assembly after entering the race last October. Receiving 49.4%, the results demonstrate strong support amongst those most engaged within the Democratic Party. After having secured the endorsement of prominent Democrats including former Secretary Ken Salazar, Attorney General Phil Weiser, former Congressman John Salazar, and former State Senator Gail Schwartz over the past three months, the win at the CD3 Assembly shows Iacino continuing to build momentum heading into the June primary.
“I want to express my deepest thanks to the delegates of CD3. Yesterday’s vote shows that we are building the support needed to beat Scott Tipton this November and bring a real voice back to Western and Southern Colorado,” said James Iacino. “We are in a time of crisis and need a leader who will stand for us and not partisan interests. I look forward to continuing to show CD3 voters my commitment to serving them and to earn their vote in the primary this June.”
With a commitment to accessibility, Iacino has hosted over 10 virtual meet & greets since March 15th to remain connected with voters and the concerns they have had in recent weeks. On Wednesdays, Iacino hosts weekly “Java with James” sessions and on Saturdays he hosts a short Facebook Live stream, discussing issues currently facing small businesses.
